Job Description

HHS, originally founded in 1975 as Hospital Housekeeping Systems, is a private, family-owned business committed to excellence in service and fostering growth within its team. Operating across six diverse industries, HHS provides specialized services in housekeeping, food management, and facility management to nearly 1,000 customers. Their steadfast dedication to quality-driven customer service and a supportive work environment has made them a trusted leader in the field. The company embraces a culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), ensuring every team member is respected, heard, and empowered to flourish. HHS recognizes the intrinsic value of internal growth and actively supports employees aiming for leadership roles, fostering a supportive environment that inspires career advancement.

We are currently seeking a talented and compassionate Food Service Manager to join our dedicated team. This critical role will involve managing the food service department to provide exceptional service and maintain high-quality standards that meet and exceed customer expectations. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between different levels of leadership—departmental, facility, and corporate—to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Collaboration with dietitians and chefs is essential to craft menus that reflect market trends while delivering balanced nutritional value to our clientele.

The Food Service Manager will lead by example, fostering a team environment centered on morale, passion, respect, and quality. This leadership position demands a proactive approach to customer and patient satisfaction, emphasizing clear communication, integrity, and consistent performance. Responsibilities will include recruiting, training, developing, scheduling, and assigning tasks to team members, ensuring that the workforce operates cohesively and efficiently. Daily inspections and assessments will be conducted to uphold operational excellence and the coaching and counseling of staff will be integral to continuous improvement.

Additionally, the successful candidate must efficiently manage inventory, vendor relationships, planning, scheduling, payroll, and supply processes to maintain strict budget compliance. Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards is paramount to the role. Through team-building initiatives, the Food Service Manager will create a positive and safe work environment that values each employee’s contribution and nurtures professional growth. Many healthcare facilities served by HHS require full COVID-19 vaccination or an approved exemption, emphasizing safety and health in operational standards.

This role is suited for a professional with a ServSafe Food Service Manager Certification and over five years of experience within food operations, including at least three years in a management capacity. Candidates should demonstrate strong decision-making skills, professionalism, effective communication, and a customer service-oriented mindset. Proficiency in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, email, and ordering platforms is required. The willingness to relocate for promotional opportunities within the organization is essential, reflecting HHS’s commitment to fostering growth from within.

Preferred qualifications include Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification, experience working in hospital environments, and proficiency in additional languages, particularly Spanish. HHS offers competitive benefits such as paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with employer matching, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and career development opportunities with ongoing training. Veterans and candidates with military experience are strongly encouraged to apply, as HHS values diverse experiences and backgrounds.

HHS stands as a beacon of opportunity for dynamic leaders ready to grow their careers within a stable yet rapidly expanding organization. Join us in our commitment to excellent service and team member support.
