Job Description
The Terraces of Boise is a distinguished HumanGood community located in Boise, Idaho, recognized nationally as a 2025-2026 Best Senior Living community by U.S. News & World Report. This accolade highlights our commitment to excellence in Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care, making us a leading choice for seniors seeking compassionate and quality care. As part of HumanGood, one of the largest nonprofit owners and operators of senior living communities in the country, we are dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching environment where residents can thrive and enjoy comfortable lifestyles.
At The Terraces of Boise, we are not only focused on delivering exceptional services to our residents but also on fostering a workplace culture that values every team member’s contributions. We believe that our employees are our greatest asset, and we invest in their growth and well-being as they help us fulfill our mission. Our community offers competitive pay, fulfilling work schedules with no late nights, and comprehensive benefits to support our team members in both their professional and personal lives.
We are currently seeking talented Line Cooks to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing food items to meet the high standards of quality and quantity that our residents expect in our Residential Living, Assisted Living, Memory Support, and Health Center Dining Room. Under general supervision, the Line Cook will perform tasks such as washing, trimming, cutting, portioning, measuring, mixing, and panning ingredients, as well as cooking food using various methods including baking, broiling, frying, steaming, braising, boiling, and pressure cooking.
This position requires attentiveness to food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring all food preparation and storage comply with health regulations. You'll operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as grills, broilers, ovens, steamer tables, mixers, microwave ovens, and toasters, keeping all tools clean and ready for use. The schedule is designed to provide work-life balance, with shifts available Thursday through Saturday from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, and Sunday through Monday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
The hourly pay ranges from $20 to $23 based on your years of experience. We especially welcome candidates with skilled nursing or retirement community cooking experience and familiarity with dietary restrictions and modified diets. Preferred qualifications include scratch cooking skills, fine dining or country club cooking experience, and culinary education. We value your unique cooking background and are excited to incorporate your expertise into our team.
Joining The Terraces of Boise means becoming part of a mission-driven organization that supports its team members with outstanding benefits. Full-time employees receive 20 days of paid time off plus 7 company holidays, access to a 401(k) plan with up to 4% employer match and immediate vesting, health, dental, and vision plans starting the first of the month after your start date, a $25+ tax per line cell phone plan, tuition reimbursement, and an employee assistance program. Part-time and per diem team members also have access to medical benefits and matching 401(k) plans with similar cell phone plan perks.
