Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of related customer service experience
- Computer skills including data entry and order entry
- Ability to type effectively and efficiently
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to detect and avoid errors
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to pass basic rhythm identification competency every six months
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and hospital policies
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- AA, BA, or BS degree preferred
- Medical terminology, symbols, and abbreviation course or proof of competency
- Previous Unit Clerk experience preferred
- Minimum of one year hands-on experience in customer service
- Proficient computer skills and experience with data entry and order entry programs
- Strong organizational skills and ability to detect and avoid errors
- Efficient keyboarding and typing skills
- Current BLS certification through AHA
- National Association certification (NAHUC) preferred
- Proof of competency in arrhythmia recognition upon hire or transfer
Job Duties
- Receives, greets and directs visitors, patients, physicians, business partners and coworkers on the unit
- Participates in orientation and training of staff and newly hired personnel
- Provides methodology for dissemination of information and discussion of division problems or new projects
- Performs all tasks demonstrating service excellence
- Assists in meeting patient needs by managing WestCom system and call light forwarding
- Maintains telemetry monitoring support and alerts nursing staff to alarms and rhythm changes
- Processes chart orders and maintains medical records accurately
