Job Description
The Arcadia Family of Companies is a dedicated local non-profit organization that excels in providing senior living services with a compassionate, dynamic, and gracious approach. Founded on principles that prioritize the spiritual, physical, and social needs of every resident, client, and member, the company has established itself as a leader in senior care. Through its various subsidiaries including Arcadia, 15 Craigside (Health Care Center), Arcadia Adult Day Care and Day Health Center, Arcadia Home Health and Home Care Services, Arcadia at Home, and Hale Ola Kino by Arcadia, the organization offers a comprehensive range of support and care options tailored to enhance the quality of life for seniors across different settings.
Employees at the Arcadia Family of Companies are the cornerstone of its success. The organization fosters an inclusive and supportive work environment characterized by compassion, integrity, and open communication. Teamwork and collaboration are emphasized as key values, ensuring that each employee's contribution positively impacts the lives of the residents and clients served. The culture within the organization encourages employee growth, professional development, and a shared commitment to exceptional care.
This position offers an excellent entry-level opportunity in healthcare at the 15 Craigside Health Care Center. As a Casual Hire, employees work less than 20 hours per week, predominantly over weekends with shifts from 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The hourly pay rate for this role ranges from $17.00 to $18.53. The primary responsibilities involve assisting the healthcare team with dining, housekeeping, clerical tasks, and other related services that contribute to the well-being and comfort of residents. This role is perfect for individuals eager to begin or continue their careers in healthcare while making a meaningful difference.
The casual hire role offers a variety of duties including setting up dining rooms, serving meals in a family-style environment, assisting residents with ambulation, and monitoring vital health indicators such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates. More so, the position requires hands-on support with activities of daily living (ADL), companionship services, and assisting with maintaining a clean and safe environment. Employees also play an important role in continuous quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness, ensuring that residents receive consistent and safe care.
Working at Arcadia also means access to a range of substantial benefits. The organization provides comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision) for employees and their dependents, alongside flexible spending accounts and an Employee Assistance Program. Employees benefit from a generous 403(b) retirement plan with a significant employer contribution, free employee meals allowing staff time to relax and enjoy nutrition prepared by skilled chefs, and paid time off with vacation days adjusted by tenure plus paid holidays including the employee’s birthday. Sick leave is provided and can accrue up to 90 days after just 90 days of employment, giving staff important flexibility and support when they need it. To support career growth, Arcadia offers professional development options such as an Education Assistance Program for those aspiring to become Certified Nurse Aids (CNAs) and access to a wide array of online training courses via Relias.
Joining Arcadia means becoming part of a mission-driven non-profit that truly values its employees and promotes an environment where individuals can thrive while contributing to improving senior lives. The organization is committed to equal employment opportunities without discrimination, reflecting its core values in every aspect of its operations.
