Job Description

The Hotel Folk is a distinguished group of luxury hotels and associated businesses beautifully situated across the scenic county of Suffolk. Established in 1996, the company has grown steadily and now includes six unique hotels, a prestigious Country Club, and a luxurious Spa. Each property offers its own distinct personality and charm, yet they all share a common thread — a community of passionate individuals devoted to providing exceptional hospitality experiences. The culture at The Hotel Folk is one of genuine care and dedication to guests, ensuring every stay is memorable and delightful. With a strong emphasis on quality, comfort, and personalized service, The Hotel Folk has earned a reputation as a leading hospitality brand in the region, attracting guests looking for elegant accommodations, outstanding amenities, and impeccable service.

We are currently offering an exciting career opportunity for a Head of Marketing to join our Head Office team. This role is pivotal in driving the marketing strategy for The Hotel Folk, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The position is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week, and comes with a competitive salary package along with attractive benefits including 33 days of annual leave. The Head of Marketing will be a key member of the executive team, collaborating closely with hotel managers and other department heads to devise innovative marketing campaigns and brand initiatives.

The scope of this role is varied and dynamic, involving the management of all facets of the marketing mix. This includes responsibilities such as brand management, direct marketing efforts, development of compelling propositions tailored to individual hotel properties, and overseeing creative and media planning. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and enhancing guest-facing IT systems to ensure they provide a seamless online journey for guests while being efficient and user-friendly for operational staff. Leading the marketing team, the Head of Marketing ensures effective communication between hotel and department managers and the marketing team so that promotional activities are executed timely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will hold a CIM Level 6 qualification and have substantial experience—at least 8 years—in a similar leadership role in marketing within the retail or hospitality sectors, particularly in organizations of comparable size. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, alongside proficiency in managing and motivating teams. Analytical skills are critical for this role, enabling the candidate to identify and capitalize on revenue generation opportunities across all hotel sites. A current driving license is also required to facilitate travel between the various properties located across the picturesque Suffolk countryside and coastline.

This role not only offers the chance to contribute to a renowned hospitality brand's growth but also provides a collaborative and supportive work environment where marketing innovation is encouraged. The Hotel Folk values its employees and provides a number of unique benefits including complimentary golf at Thorpeness Golf Club, 50% discounts on spa treatments and dining at all restaurants, free meals during shifts, affordable accommodations in company hotels, access to an Employee Assistance Programme, free car parking, and a company pension scheme. These perks reflect the company’s commitment to rewarding staff and promoting a healthy work-life balance while fostering a sense of community and pride among team members.
