Job Requirements

  • Must have two years of hotel sales experience or equivalent in lifestyle boutique hotel experience
  • must be able to communicate in English both written and verbal
  • must be able to speak clearly and understandably over the telephone
  • proficient in Microsoft Office
  • ability to sit and use hands and fingers for computer and phone operation for extended periods
  • ability to talk and hear clearly through phone and internet meetings
  • willing to travel as required
  • adherence to company and departmental policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • Develop appointment-oriented sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program in line with goals
  • collaborate with Director of Sales and corporate team to develop and execute effective sales strategies
  • manage and service room blocks ensuring seamless group experiences
  • capture competitors' accounts through networking and research to generate new business
  • prospect for new business via telemarketing and creative innovation
  • maximize current key accounts by identifying growth opportunities
  • develop strong customer relationships through frequent, professional communication
  • maintain customer profiles and trace systems to meet client needs
  • promptly respond to sales and reservation inquiries
  • manage SMERF and other sales segments
  • create and manage group blocks in CRM
  • provide administrative support to Director of Sales
  • qualify incoming leads and distribute to sales team
  • assist with group and travel agent commissions
  • process group payments as per hotel policies
  • provide guest information and assistance
  • manage gift certificate requests
  • ensure compliance with company and departmental rules
  • draft proposals and group contracts
  • collaborate with all hotel departments as needed
  • assist with preparing site alerts
  • understand and apply revenue management principles including market intelligence and sales strategies
  • maintain positive team attitude and open communication
  • achieve sales activity goals and complete reports timely
  • prepare sales metrics reports detailing calls, opportunities, and bookings
  • actively participate in community and industry organizations
  • travel for client appointments, site visits, or trade shows
  • lead by example and remain visible to team
  • foster open communication and be available to team members
  • contribute to property reputation management
  • embody brand values and exceptional service delivery
