Job Description
Amazon is a global leader in e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. Founded in 1994, Amazon has evolved into one of the world’s most valuable and influential companies, known for its customer-centric approach, innovation, and large-scale technological infrastructure. Within Amazon’s expansive portfolio, the Devices & Services division focuses on designing, developing, and marketing consumer electronics and hardware products like Fire TV, Alexa, and Echo devices. This division emphasizes delivering seamless and innovative experiences to millions of customers worldwide.
The Head of Global Events role sits within the Developer Marketing, Education, and Technology (MET) team, part of the Content and App Partner Engagement (CAPE) organization under Devices & Services. This leadership position is critical to driving Amazon’s partner engagement strategy by overseeing a team dedicated to planning and executing high-impact events aimed at developers, partners, and business stakeholders. The incumbent will orchestrate global events that showcase Amazon’s latest technologies, foster partner collaborations, and elevate Amazon’s presence in the competitive B2B tech ecosystem.
As Head of Global Events, you will lead a team of five experienced events professionals, managing a diverse portfolio that includes major industry events like CES, Alexa and FireTV partner summits, developer conferences, and strategic partner showcases. Your role is highly strategic and operational—translating business goals and partnership opportunities into measurable event outcomes, while ensuring financial discipline and maximizing return on investment. Collaboration across numerous internal stakeholders such as FireTV and Alexa product teams, Developer Marketing, Business Development, and PR is essential to align event strategies with product roadmaps and broader corporate objectives.
This role requires approximately 25% travel to manage and participate in events globally and includes responsibility for the Home Lab, a unique initiative showcasing technical integration of Amazon products for live event demonstrations and partner experiences. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on event investments that spotlight Amazon’s technical prowess and market differentiation.
The position emphasizes a culture of continuous improvement, data-driven decision making, and a customer-first mindset. You will be expected to lead by example, fostering innovation, inclusivity, and excellence within your team while building organizational capability through strategic hiring, succession planning, and skill development focused on B2B event expertise. By managing a multi-million dollar budget and complex event portfolio, you will demonstrate adept fiscal management and an ability to navigate fast-paced, matrixed environments.
Amazon offers a competitive salary range from $164,100 to $222,000 annually depending on location, experience, and qualifications. The total compensation package includes sign-on bonuses, restricted stock units, and comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. Amazon is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering diversity and an inclusive culture where all employees can thrive.
