Legends Global's Stockton Complex is one of their esteemed locations, serving as a key venue for numerous banquet, event, and public assembly functions. This complex requires a dynamic and experienced Head Cook to oversee the kitchen operations, guaranteeing excellence in food preparation, presentation, and adherence to health and safety standards. The role is essential for maintaining the high standards that Legends Global is known for, especially when hosting large-scale banquets and events that require precision, teamwork, and culinary expertise.
The Head Cook at Legends Global's Stockton Complex is directly responsible for managing all aspects of kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation, and quality control. This role demands a strong leader capable of training kitchen employees in proper cooking methods, preparation techniques, and plate presentation standards. The Head Cook also ensures kitchen sanitation, cleanliness, and safety, facilitating a work environment that meets all regulatory compliance and company policies. As the leader executing day-to-day food production plans, the Head Cook coordinates kitchen activities on event days to ensure food quality, taste, and presentation are consistently outstanding.
In this highly visible role, the Head Cook supervises temporary labor during banquets and events, guaranteeing that service requirements outlined in Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) are met fully and accurately. The role also involves designing buffet presentations to create an inviting and appetizing display, enhancing guests’ overall experience. Maintenance of kitchen equipment and oversight of its cleanliness and annual maintenance are crucial duties to support uninterrupted operations and uphold safety standards.
Offering compensation at $20.00 per hour, this full-time position demands physical stamina as the work often requires standing, lifting, stooping, and walking during extended event times. Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential given the nature of event scheduling at public venues. The position is also supportive of ongoing professional development, including mandatory attendance at Legends Global's Alcohol and Policy Training Classes and acquiring a Food Handler’s Permit.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- 1 year experience in a banquet facility preparing meals for large events
- 1 year experience in culinary
- food handler’s permit or ability to obtain one upon hire
- ability to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays
- physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, lifting, stooping, and walking
- must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- 1 year experience in a banquet facility preparing meals for large events
- 1 year experience in culinary
- demonstrate exceptional skills in customer relations, communications, and problem solving
- follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form

- maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others while working

Job Duties
- Manage the event day operation of the kitchen, coordinate food production and ensure the highest level of food quality, taste and presentation
- supervise temporary labor
- fulfill the service per each Banquet Event Order (BEO)
- prepare recipes as directed
- maintain all kitchen equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance
- design buffet food presentations
- maintain a clean and safe working environment
