Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- vocational or technical training in cooking or equivalent experience
- ServSafe Food Safety Certification
- ability to learn, comprehend, and apply departmental policies
- proficiency in supervising staff and managing kitchen operations
- ability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and health compliance
- ability to plan menus and manage food supplies
- ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- ability to manage cash and financial records
- ability to perform physical kitchen tasks
- flexibility to work shift schedules
- ability to document education and experience
- willingness to submit official transcripts at time of employment
Job Qualifications

- ServSafe Food Safety Certification issued by the National Restaurant Association
- proficiency in kitchen operations and food safety practices
- leadership and supervisory experience preferred
- ability to maintain cleanliness and compliance with health standards

- ability to handle cash and complete income reports
Job Duties
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff
- develops and oversees employee work schedules
- compiles and reviews timesheets
- addresses employee concerns and disciplinary actions
- assists with employee performance appraisals
- maintains kitchen cleanliness and compliance with health standards
- sanitizes kitchen surfaces and equipment
- reviews temperature logs
- ensures proper food storage
- maintains certificates and permits
- plans balanced menus for weekly meals and special events
- orders food and supplies respecting budget constraints
- maintains food and supply inventory
- completes food usage reports
- prepares and serves breakfasts, snacks, lunches, and special diet items
- performs food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, mixing, and cooking
- operates kitchen equipment safely
- inspects food quality and temperature
- manages cash control including operating cash register and completing income reports
- performs other related duties as required
