The role of Assistant Coach, also known as Assistant General Manager, is vital within Sweetgreen's team structure. As an Assistant Coach, you will provide leadership, strategy, and mentorship to the store, acting as both a hands-on leader and an operational strategist. This position requires supporting the store by inspiring team members, driving operational excellence, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. The Assistant Coach works closely with the Head Coach (store manager) to set goals, track performance metrics, and use data-driven insights to overcome challenges. The primary goal is to build healthier communities through real food while maintaining excellence in customer service, food safety, and operational efficiency.

The Assistant Coach will partner in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members while fostering a culture of trust and recognition within the store. Responsibilities also include maintaining strict food safety standards, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance to uphold the highest quality standards. Job Requirements
- Meet all physical requirements for roles within career path including Assistant Coach Shift Leader Kitchen Lead and Team Member
- Two or more years in restaurant management or supervisory role
- Experience managing and developing six or more team members per shift
- Food Handler or ServSafe certification
- Availability to work minimum of 30 hours per week
- Must be 18 years or older
- Authorization to work in the United States
