Job Description

Crave-It Nutrition is a Texas-based food service company dedicated to delivering high-quality nutritional food programs across more than 65 locations. Known for its commitment to wholesome ingredients and excellent customer service, Crave-It Nutrition specializes in managing food service for schools and other institutions with a focus on healthy, scratch-cooked meals. They partner with educational institutions to foster a culture of wellness and nutrition among students, ensuring every meal served helps support student health and academic success. The company values operational excellence, culinary innovation, and customer engagement to create programs that meet the specific dietary and cultural needs of the communities they serve.

The role of Kitchen Manager & Head Chef at St. Pius Catholic School represents a key leadership position within Crave-It Nutrition's school food service program. This position is responsible for overseeing culinary operations, managing a small kitchen team, and ensuring the daily delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals to students in a school environment. Working within a secondary school setting, the role demands organizational skills to manage complex kitchen operations, from food prep and service scheduling to compliance with health codes. The Kitchen Manager is the face of the kitchen program, tasked with fostering a culture of care, consistency, and culinary excellence. The role combines hands-on cooking, menu design, and leadership duties with a strong focus on team collaboration and positive engagement with parents and school administrators.

Ideal candidates for this role are culinary professionals with at least seven years of experience in kitchen management and scratch-cooked menu creation, who lead by example with humility and service. The position requires excellent communication skills to engage diplomatically with a diverse parent community, many of whom have strong opinions about nutrition and ingredient sourcing. The Kitchen Manager must be reliable, punctual, and physically able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Holding or the ability to obtain a Food Manager's Certificate and undergo background and Safe Environment checks is required.

This role offers a competitive salary based on experience, a school-year schedule generally from 6/7 am to 2 pm Monday through Friday, as well as paid training and support from a strong regional management team. There is potential for summer opportunities and professional growth within Crave-It Nutrition's expanding operations. Applicants are encouraged to submit a resume and cover letter explaining their culinary background and leadership approach in a school setting, with a targeted start date in August. This role is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the health and well-being of students by leading a vital school kitchen program with integrity and excellence.
