The Head Chef role is based at 10 Barrel Brewing Co, a brewery that began in 2006 in Bend, Oregon, with a simple but passionate mindset: brew beer, drink beer, and enjoy life. Since its inception, 10 Barrel Brewing has expanded significantly, yet it maintains its core values of fun and community, highlighted in its vibrant, laid-back culture. The Executive Head Chef at 10 Barrel Pub in Bend, OR, directs all culinary operations, including main dining, catering, and banquet services. This leader drives menu innovation and food quality while managing cost control and staff development. The role demands excellence in high-volume and large-scale event execution and maintaining labor efficiency. The Executive Head Chef must lead by example, uphold impeccable food standards, ensure consistency and cleanliness, and foster a strong kitchen culture in a fast-paced, hospitality-centric environment. This position is essential for ensuring that all culinary offerings meet Tilray’s premium brand expectations and contribute to a memorable guest experience. The role also involves collaboration with management teams to synchronize front-of-house and back-of-house operations for seamless service delivery. Overall, the Executive Head Chef is pivotal in balancing quality, guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and team leadership within the dynamic setting of 10 Barrel Brewing Co.

Job Requirements

  • Work takes place in hot, wet, humid, and loud environments for long periods of time
  • conducts work in a standing position with frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 60lbs repetitively
  • requires the ability to manipulate large quantities of food, dishware, cookware, etc. with hands
  • culinary degree preferred but not required
  • previous kitchen management experience of 5 or more years with menu development and budgeting experience required

Job Duties

  • Oversees and executes kitchen open and close procedures
  • assumes 100% responsibility for quality of product served
  • interviews, hires, onboards, and trains new kitchen employees
  • plans menus and utilization of food surpluses taking into consideration probable number of guests, marketing conditions, and popularity of various dishes
  • oversees food input procurement and inventory monitoring and maintenance
  • collaborates with restaurant management team to ensure entire pub workforce across front of house and back of house coordinates seamlessly
  • drives and enforces consistent quality and safety standards
