The Head Chef position at LSG Sky Chefs in Seattle, USA, offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced culinary professional to join a prestigious company with a strong reputation. This is an on-site role with a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $105,000 per year. The Head Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure that daily food production at the Customer Service Center (CSC) meets the highest standards. This role requires a skilled leader who manages kitchen operations, supports food production activities, and guarantees that each dish reflects authenticity while adhering to company recipes and customer expectations.

In this role, the Head Chef not only supports daily culinary operations in both the Hot and Cold Kitchens but also assumes full operational leadership in the Executive Chef's absence. This responsibility ensures seamless kitchen performance and continuous upholding of quality standards. The successful candidate will be involved in menu development, inventory control, cost management, quality assurance, and staff training. The Head Chef also plays a critical role in maintaining hygiene, safety, and compliance with industry regulations such as HACCP.

Job Requirements

  • Apprenticeship or graduation from an accredited culinary school
  • Five years of experience in commercial cooking
  • Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations such as HACCP
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Service orientation
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications

Job Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in commercial cooking
  • Apprenticeship or graduation from an accredited culinary school
  • Additional certifications such as diet chef, industrial chef, design chef or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • Certification with the American Culinary Federation a plus
  • Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations such as HACCP
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Service orientation
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications

Job Duties

  • Support all food production activities in the Hot and Cold Kitchen in responsible CSC
  • Identify deviations in inventories and production, initiate countermeasures if necessary
  • Support the controls and adjust of production plans, estimate consumption of food and equipment required to execute the daily production
  • Ensure compliance of recipe specifications and conduct sense-checks (Gold Standards)
  • Participate in the development of food products and menus as needed
  • Be aware of content in catering manuals
  • update and distribute them within responsible CSC
  • Support the cost controlling of the budget, personnel and material costs
  • Participate in menu presentations internal and external
  • Coordinate and control countermeasures in production in case of customer complaints
  • Develop and support existing training strategy and training plans for kitchen staff in responsible CSC
  • Represent kitchen and kitchen staff in front of external stakeholders
  • Actively research and incorporate industry innovations and emerging food trends
  • Participate in marketing activities as needed
  • Ensure quality of goods received
  • Guarantee tidiness in food storage and maintain first in - first out principle
  • Guarantee adherence to hygiene, health and safety standards and HACCP regulations
  • Organize, staff and direct area of responsibility properly
  • Guide, motivate and develop subordinate employees within Human Resources Policy
  • Make the company's values and management principles live in the department
  • Implement and control the cost budget in area of responsibility
  • Initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
  • Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Global Quality Standard, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing
