The group prides itself on fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment that reflects its six core values: humility, dedication, helping others, continuous learning, integrity, and skillfulness. These qualities are reflected in every aspect of the business, from kitchen operations to guest interactions, positioning Basil&Co Group as a leader in the culinary scene. This dedication has earned it a loyal customer base and a reputation for outstanding food and service.
The Head Chef position at Ari's Thai Eatery Azusa is a pivotal role within Basil&Co Group, serving as the culinary leader responsible for steering the kitchen's performance and upholding the company's high standards. The Head Chef oversees all kitchen operations, ensuring that every dish reflects authentic Thai flavors, made with premium ingredients and traditional cooking techniques. This leadership role involves managing and developing the kitchen team through effective training, coaching, and fostering a respectful and collaborative kitchen culture. The Head Chef's domain extends beyond cooking to include inventory management, food cost control, and strategic participation in menu development and recipe standardization.
This full-time, at-will position requires a seasoned culinary professional with at least a decade of leadership experience, preferably in bustling or high-volume restaurant settings with a focus on Southeast Asian cuisine. The ideal candidate must be adept in the art of Thai cooking, familiar with various kitchen stations, and capable of ensuring smooth, efficient operations that align with Basil&Co Group's expectations.
Strategically, the Head Chef plays a crucial role in maintaining food safety and sanitation compliance, managing kitchen workflows to minimize waste and optimize ticket times, and coordinating seamlessly with front-of-house staff to deliver a superior dining experience. The candidate is expected to be flexible with work hours, embracing a schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays, demonstrating a commitment to the role and team. The physical demands of the job involve standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, and performing a variety of kitchen tasks.
Through this role, the Head Chef embodies the six core qualities of Basil&Co Group, ensuring that the culture of humility, dedication, teamwork, continuous improvement, integrity, and skillfulness permeates every shift. This is more than a job – it's an opportunity to lead a passionate team in creating memorable culinary experiences and advancing the legacy of a respected culinary brand.
