The Head Chef role at JOEY Restaurants is a critical leadership position responsible for the culinary success of a multi-million-dollar restaurant. As the Head Chef, you will lead your kitchen team to deliver memorable, consistent, and iconic culinary experiences for guests. Your role encompasses managing kitchen operations, including labor budgets, food quality control, and maintaining an immaculate restaurant environment. Beyond your technical expertise, you will also serve as a mentor and coach, inspiring continuous learning and professional growth among your team members.

In this fast-paced and dynamic environment, the Head Chef supports their team by preparing ingredients and food products according to prescribed standards while overseeing various cooking methods such as grilling, roasting, sautéing, and frying. You will ensure that all prep and cooking areas are kept clean, sanitary, and safe, maintaining organized storage spaces and equipment. Training partners on kitchen safety, proper equipment usage, and food handling procedures is another essential part of your responsibilities. You will also contribute to recruitment efforts, creating a positive hiring experience and retaining top talent within your team.

Furthermore, as the culinary leader, you will communicate daily operational goals and provide feedback to your kitchen staff. Job Duties

  • Support your team in the preparation of all ingredients and food products to fulfill prep lists, par levels, and recipe standards
  • Utilize various preparation and cooking methods to ensure the quick, precise creation of our menu items in accordance with JOEY recipes
  • Maintain prep and cooking areas in a clean, sanitary and safe manner
  • Ensure clean, organized, and maintained refrigerators, cooler drawers, ovens, preparation, and dry storage areas
  • Train partners on the instructions and guidelines for safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds
  • Fulfill recruitment needs, impact positive candidate experiences, and select and retain your team
  • Support your team in training and development of technical knowledge and world-class execution of JOEY tasks and standards
  • Communicate daily focus and feedback to partners
  • Manage in-store budgets, food costs, and labor
  • Impact the delivery of Iconic Hospitality and coach the kitchen team as needed to fulfill experience standards for our guests
  • Follow all food service and handling safety precautions and procedures
