The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling and assigning daily work activities to the kitchen team, training staff on job responsibilities and food safety standards, and ensuring consistent food preparation that meets our exacting standards. You will oversee the proper setup of workstations with all necessary ingredients and equipment, and meticulously measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items as per recipe requirements. Your proficiency in using food utensils, including knives, and operating diverse kitchen equipment will ensure an efficient workflow and safety in the kitchen environment.
Your role also encompasses using various cooking methods such as baking, broiling, and grilling to prepare meats, vegetables, and other foods to perfection. You will take charge of arranging and garnishing dishes while adhering to our presentation guidelines to ensure every plate served is as visually appealing as it is flavorful. Maintaining rigorous food safety policies for storage and handling will be critical, along with keeping work areas, utensils, and equipment clean and sanitized at all times. Exceptional customer service skills and a positive attitude are essential, as you will be interacting with both guests and team members regularly.
To thrive in this position, you will have previous supervisory experience, alongside a solid background in cooking or food preparation. You should be capable of working independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating excellent math, counting, interpersonal, and communication skills. Physical requirements for this role include the ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for prolonged periods, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) may be necessary.
