Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- retail experience in grocery or retail environment preferred
- one year of cashiering experience preferred
- one year of supervising others preferred
- ability to pass food safety training courses and maintain certifications
- ability to manage changing priorities
- sense of urgency in task completion
- excellent customer service skills
- highly organized and detail oriented
- ability to take direction and follow through
- cashier trained and able to count currency
- proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Job Qualifications

- experience in retail or grocery environment preferred, natural foods background is a plus
- one year of cashiering experience preferred

Job Duties
- Providing world class customer service and a positive customer experience
- exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence and adhering to all policies
- training, directing and monitoring cashiers including communication about the {N}Power program, notifying customers about local foodbank donations, educating customers on Nutrient to Know About, and promoting store seminars and events
- completing the Daily Sales Report and cashier closeout responsibilities
- issuing and verifying cash drawers
- handling returns and overrides at the front end
- addressing customer complaints appropriately
- ensuring that front end sets are full and well-maintained
- overseeing completion of the front end task list daily
- maintaining all register binders
- directing cashiers to tasks during slow times
- performing general cashiering and checkout duties including running a cash register, bagging/boxing groceries, and providing carry out service
- monitoring, assigning and performing cart checks
- answering the telephone
- assisting in managing special orders
- monitoring, assigning and grinding nut butters
- learning the location of products in all departments to direct customers
- participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock as needed
- working a schedule based on store needs including evenings, weekends, holidays
- attending mandatory store meetings
