The role of Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market is a vital leadership position within the store's front-end operations. Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • possess a high school diploma or GED
  • have 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training
  • be dependable and reliable with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • have the ability to operate front-end equipment such as registers, scanners, and calculators
  • have good communication skills
  • be able to take direction and constructive criticism
  • be able to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized
  • must lift and carry products up to 30 lbs from 36 inches to 24 inches for distances up to 3 feet for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance
  • must use both hands to move grocery carts requiring a force up to 35 lbs for distances up to 4 feet for up to 50 hours
  • require strong attention to detail
  • be proficient in cash handling and mathematical skills
  • have ability to read, write, and count

Job Duties

  • Supervise a team of cashiers

  • assign store sweeps and monitor cash register supply levels
  • maintain cleanliness standards in restrooms and parking lots
  • ensure security and loss prevention by monitoring exit doors
  • schedule and oversee meal and rest breaks in compliance with policies
  • assist in hiring and training new cashiers
  • take steps for disciplinary actions as necessary
