The role of Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market is designed for individuals who enjoy leading by example and mentoring a team in a dynamic environment. Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • possess a high school diploma or GED
  • have 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training
  • be dependable and reliable having the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes including nights, weekends and holidays
  • have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers, representing as a role model in behaviors
  • ability to operate front end equipment, register, calculator, scanner
  • have good communication skills, the ability to take direction or constructive criticism and participate in a team environment
  • be able to perform repetitious activities and have the ability to multitask, prioritize and stay organized
  • must lift or carry product horizontally or vertically weighing up to 30 lbs from 36 inches to 24 inches for a distance up to 3 feet for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance
  • must use both hands to move grocery carts horizontally requiring a force up to 35 lbs for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 50 hours
  • requires strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers
  • proficient in cash handling and mathematical skills
  • ability to read, write and count

Job Duties

  • Ensure excellent customer service through proactively visiting registers and providing direction/support to cashiers and courtesy clerks
  • Assist in potential customer assistance issues at the register
  • Assign store sweeps, monitor/maintain cash register supply levels and maintain cleanliness standards in the restrooms and parking lots
  • Maintain visibility of the exit doors for security and loss prevention issues
  • Schedule and oversee proper execution of appropriate meal and rest breaks in compliance with company policy and state requirements
  • Assist in the hiring and training of new cashiers and taking necessary steps for disciplinary actions
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment
