Job Description

VENETO is the parent company behind Via Veneto Pizzarium (VVP), a dynamic and emerging quick-service restaurant brand specializing in authentic Italian Pizza al Taglio. Our company culture emphasizes growth, education, and career development, providing employees with comprehensive benefits such as basic medical coverage, employee dining discounts, and paid time off after a required waiting period. VENETO supports its staff by creating an inclusive, nurturing, and creative work environment that values integrity, hospitality, and excellence. At Via Veneto Pizzarium, which is set to open on February 26, 2026, at 511 East 900 South near Liberty Park, we are proud to bring a unique style of pizza to the community — Pizza al Taglio, a traditional Roman street-food-style, sold by weight with a crispy, semi-thick crust made from high-quality 00 Italian flour.

Via Veneto Pizzarium offers an exciting opportunity for a Head Baker to join the opening team and lead our bakery operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality and consistency of our distinctive pizzas, managing all bakery production, and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and organization. The Head Baker will be a passionate leader who understands the fermentation process, dough making, and baking techniques specific to artisanal bread and pizza. This position is perfect for someone who excels in collaborative environments, shows strong communication skills, and can work efficiently in fast-paced settings while maintaining composure and meticulous attention to detail.

The Head Baker will play an integral part in developing and testing recipes, leading the baking team, managing inventory and supplies, and collaborating closely with ownership and front-of-house staff to deliver an exceptional dining experience. A strong focus will be placed on food safety and regulatory compliance, with the expectation that the candidate holds relevant certifications such as a Food Handler's Certificate or ServSafe Certification.

We seek individuals who combine skill with a genuine passion for Italian culinary arts and a commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate is friendly, sociable, and driven by an owner mentality, taking pride in every aspect of their work and the overall guest experience. This full-time in-person role offers competitive compensation ranging from $43,000 to $48,000 annually, along with a generous benefits package including medical coverage, paid time off, and dining discounts. Working hours will include evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the nature of the hospitality industry.

If you are an experienced baker ready to lead and inspire a team within a vibrant new restaurant setting and are passionate about authentic Italian pizza, we invite you to consider this exciting opportunity. Join VENETO and be a part of a company that not only values great food but fosters an environment where employees thrive, grow, and contribute to a memorable customer experience.
