The Hospitality Lead role at Dallas Retirement Village is a pivotal position designed to uphold and enhance the quality of the dining experience by setting and maintaining service standards for residents and guests. This role requires a proactive leader who works alongside service staff and assists the Dining Room Manager in daily operations, training, and staff oversight. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • valid Food Handlers card
  • valid OLCC Service Permit
  • minimum age of 21
  • at least one year of hospitality food and beverage leadership experience
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • knowledge of food safety and alcohol service regulations
  • physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and move up to 50 pounds
  • ability to work with seniors with empathy and professionalism

Job Qualifications

  • ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic
  • ability to use a cash register and make change
  • valid Food Handlers card
  • valid OLCC Service Permit
  • at least 21 years old per DRV alcohol service policy
  • ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, and work with residents, families, visitors, and staff
  • able to perform duties timely consistent with resident needs and dining standards
  • understanding and application of DRV policies and procedures
  • minimum one year of experience in hospitality food and beverage as a lead

Job Duties

  • manages guest reservations for their assigned dining venue per established department policies
  • greets and seats residents and their guests during peak times to ensure an even workload for service staff and ensure good service
  • must be able to multitask and fill in while dining room manager is not available
  • responsible for promoting dining room public relations and handling resident dining concerns with effective communication
  • make sure all condiments for daily special in house and to go are prepared prior to mealtime
  • schedules service staff, assigns their work sections and side work
  • checks that all side work is done before leaving for the day
  • ensures POS equipment is maintained in good working order
  • ensures alcohol service complies with OLCC regulations and DRV policies
  • performs dining services to support staff during meal times including taking a section during meal service
  • ensures dining tables are cleared, cleaned and set per standards
  • follows safety regulations and infection control and food handling procedures
  • orients and trains dining room staff and participates in in-service meetings
  • maintains orderly and clean storage areas
  • ensures adequate floor stock and proper labeling/dating procedures
  • maintains acceptable personal hygiene and complies with dress code
  • attends assigned training and education sessions
  • participates in other campus foodservice activities
  • assists Dining Room Manager with special events set-up and break-down
  • prioritizes and delegates duties timely
  • maintains organization and attention to detail
  • performs other duties as assigned by management
