The role of Hazmat Waste Coordinator is situated within Amazon's Warehouse and Health Safety (WHS) team at one of its highly automated and fast-paced Fulfillment Centers (FC). As the primary liaison between the Operations and WHS departments, the coordinator ensures compliance with waste disposal regulations and optimizes waste collection processes involving external partners. The position requires close collaboration with Tier 1 associates trained in hazardous materials handling and the waste vendor to maintain operational efficiency and safety.

Working at Amazon offers a comprehensive compensation package with a competitive hourly rate ranging from $23.00 to $24.00 for this role in Niagara Falls, NY. The award of a $10,000 pre-tax launch bonus is available for eligible hires meeting specific location and timing criteria, with details regarding repayment conditions if tenure or role requirements are not fulfilled. Amazon emphasizes a flexible work schedule, including weekends, nights, holidays, and the capacity for overtime work, ensuring operational demands are met while supporting employee well-being.

Responsibilities include monitoring and verifying hazardous waste storage conditions, maintaining accurate records and consignment documentation, escalating compliance issues to management, and implementing health and safety best practices consistently throughout daily activities. This position contributes to continuous improvement efforts by gathering feedback and supporting the WHS team in special tasks and internal waste management processes. The role demands physical capability to handle materials, and adherence to safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.

Amazon champions equal employment opportunities, with accommodations available for candidates requiring support during recruitment and employment. This commitment, combined with a dynamic work environment and a focus on personal and professional development, makes the Hazmat Waste Coordinator role an excellent opportunity for candidates motivated to contribute to safety and efficiency within one of the world’s leading companies.
