Job Description
Life Couriers is a well-established logistics company with over 45 years of experience, specializing in freight transportation and third-party logistics services throughout the United States. The company has built a strong reputation in the industry by serving a wide variety of clients, ranging from small businesses to large enterprises. Life Couriers focuses on several key industries, including medical, pharmaceutical, and general delivery services for both private and public sectors. With roots as radiopharmaceutical couriers, the company understands the paramount importance of precision, safety, and reliability when handling time-critical and sensitive deliveries. Life Couriers operates a vast network of dedicated drivers who deliver essential medical therapies, diagnostics, and other critical supplies ensuring timely, dependable service for life-saving products.
Life Couriers is currently seeking dependable and professional contract couriers with valid Commercial Driver's Licenses (CDL) and Hazmat endorsements. This contract opportunity is designed for 1099 independent contractors who are prepared to handle routed deliveries, on-demand pickups, and backup or standby services in response to fluctuating daily delivery volumes. Contractors will be responsible for picking up and delivering pharmaceuticals, medical therapies, generators, and medical supplies primarily using reliable SUVs that meet age requirements (2011 or newer).
As a Hazmat Delivery Courier contractor with Life Couriers, you will play a critical role in ensuring that sensitive medical and hazardous materials are transported safely and efficiently under strict compliance with safety regulations and company standards. The schedule requires availability mainly during evening and overnight hours, specifically Sunday 4pm to 6am Monday-Thursday, to align with shifts in healthcare and medical logistics operations. Earnings for this role are commission-based and paid weekly through a third-party pay administrator, Openforce, compensating contractors per mile, per route, or per stop—with possible variable fuel surcharge depending on the market.
To qualify for this contract, applicants must hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A, B, or C along with a current Hazmat endorsement and DOT Med Card. A clean driving record, ability to consistently lift up to 35 pounds, possession of a smartphone for GPS tracking and order scanning, and adherence to professional appearance standards are mandatory. Contractors must live within 25 miles of the delivery area zip code 65803 and operate a registered, reliable SUV meeting age requirements. Insurance coverage standards and compliance with safety protocols are required, including maintaining bodily injury and property damage insurance and either workers’ compensation insurance or enrolling in an Occupational Accident Insurance program available through Life Couriers.
The contracting process emphasizes quick enrollment due to high demand, ensuring only active and compliant contractors proceed to final contracting stages. Life Couriers provides contractor affiliates with the necessary training modules and resources, including HIPAA and Bloodborne Pathogen training, to maintain compliance and safety standards. This role provides a unique opportunity to join a leading logistics provider with a specialized focus on delivering critical, time-sensitive materials that directly impact healthcare delivery and patient safety. The contract model offers flexibility, competitive commissions, and the chance to contribute to an essential sector within the logistics and medical delivery landscape.
