Job Description
Hayes Mansion is a distinctive hotel property situated in Northern California, offering guests a unique blend of historic elegance and modern comfort. Nestled amidst lush landscaping and providing stunning mountain views, Hayes Mansion has undergone a significant $20 million revitalization and repositioning to establish itself as a premier Silicon Valley destination. Whether travelers are visiting for leisure—exploring nearby cultural landmarks, vineyards, beaches, and golf courses—or attending conferences, the hotel provides exceptional accommodations tailored to diverse guest needs. Located just 15 miles from San Jose International Airport, Hayes Mansion is perfectly positioned to attract both local and international visitors seeking comfort, style, and convenience in the Bay Area region.
As the Director of Rooms, you will hold a pivotal leadership role overseeing the entire Rooms Division, including departments such as Front Office, Concierge, Guest Recognition, PBX, Housekeeping, Valet Laundry, and Valet Parking. Your responsibility is to drive operational excellence by ensuring every guest’s stay is seamless and memorable. This role demands a strategic thinker and natural leader who is able to inspire teams, maintain service standards, and optimize revenue performance. You will be the main point of contact for all room-related operations, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver an unforgettable guest experience.
Your primary objective will be to cultivate a culture of excellence and top-tier customer service, guiding your teams with clarity, confidence, and enthusiasm. As a talent development advocate, you will hire, train, and nurture staff to build a high-performing, motivated workforce aligned with company standards. Your proactive approach to problem-solving will minimize disruptions and maintain smooth communications between guests, employees, and other hotel departments.
The Director of Rooms will also manage budgets and analyze operational performance metrics, ensuring that every aspect of the Rooms Division runs efficiently. Your technological savviness and attention to detail will prevent issues from slipping through the cracks, while your leadership skills will fuel a cohesive, well-organized team. This full-time position offers the chance to be part of a historic yet forward-thinking establishment, contributing meaningfully to Hayes Mansion’s reputation as a Silicon Valley landmark and hospitality leader.
Candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience in a similar leadership role within hospitality, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, communicates effectively, listens actively, and possesses strong decision-making capabilities. This role offers a competitive benefits package including daily pay options, medical insurance, dental and vision coverage, disability income, life insurance, paid time off, employee assistance, and a 401k retirement plan. If you are passionate about hospitality and dedicated to transforming everyday stays into lasting memories, Hayes Mansion invites you to apply and become a cornerstone of our exceptional team.
