Job Description

JBS is a leading global food processing company specializing in meat production and processing. As one of the largest companies in the meat industry, JBS is known for its commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability in food production. The company prides itself on providing a supportive work environment that values teamwork, employee growth, and operational excellence. With an established presence in the industry, JBS offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive range of employee benefits, including health care, life insurance, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan. JBS is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion, committed to providing a safe and respectful workplace for all employees, including those with disabilities and veterans.

The Harvest Supervisor role at JBS is an essential position responsible for overseeing the slaughter area and ensuring that production processes meet regulatory standards and internal quality specifications. This role requires close monitoring of product quality and safety, as well as the ability to administer corrective measures and provide indirect job specification training to the production team. The supervisor coordinates personnel attendance and fills operational gaps to maintain an efficient workflow while minimizing turnover. Additional responsibilities involve conducting pre-operational inspections, setting up production equipment, and submitting maintenance work orders when necessary. Maintaining adherence to food safety, work safety regulations, human resources, and company policies is critical to the role.

The Harvest Supervisor actively fosters a cohesive working environment by maintaining communication with employees and management and conducting periodic line meetings to address department concerns. Monitoring product audits and employee safety throughout shifts is a key element of the job, alongside controlling waste and ensuring a sanitary work environment. This role requires operating within production and maintenance settings that involve exposure to chemicals, machinery, knives, and potentially slippery floors with high ambient noise levels. Working hours typically exceed 50 hours per week on the Harvest or Hides production floor, with a schedule generally from Monday through Friday and weekend work as scheduled.

The ideal candidate for the Harvest Supervisor position possesses 2 to 5 years of production experience, preferably with knowledge of meat processing and job specifications. Bilingual skills are preferred but not mandatory. Strong communication and management abilities are advantageous for coordinating teams and maintaining regulatory compliance. The role demands dedication to safety, quality, and operational efficiency within a fast-paced production environment. Joining JBS as a Harvest Supervisor offers an opportunity to contribute to a leading food processing company's success while benefiting from robust employee support and growth initiatives.
