Job Duties

Provide superior customer service
take orders from customers by telephone or in person
answer customer questions regarding products and assist them with selections
prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product effectively
slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for poor quality
assist in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
use suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
clean and sanitize display cases
operate and maintain equipment properly
comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
comply with department and store operating procedures
record production and shrink to aid in production planning in bakery
assist in baking, frying, and decorating as needed in bakery
cull bakery products for poor quality and expiration dates
take care of service counter customers in deli
use ordering system applications and Fresh Production Planner
perform inventory management processes such as MSI and PAW
ensure catering orders are prepared and ready for customer pickup if applicable
perform all sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
serve and package products at customer’s request in prepared foods
educate customers on preparation and reheating instructions
prepackage condiments for prepared food items
cut, slice, dice, chop food in preparation for chef
