The Boca Raton is a renowned hospitality establishment known for its commitment to excellence in guest service and high-quality dining experiences. As a part of the wider luxury hotel and restaurant industry, The Boca Raton offers a refined ambiance and exceptional culinary services aimed at creating memorable visits for both local residents and travelers. The establishment prides itself on combining elegant dining with impeccable hospitality standards, making it a prestigious destination for those seeking a sophisticated restaurant environment. The Boca Raton is dedicated to maintaining an environment where both guests and employees feel valued, supported, and motivated to deliver their best performance consistently.
The role of the Server at The Boca Raton is crucial in ensuring a seamless dining experience for guests. This position requires a candidate with a thorough working knowledge of refined restaurant operations and prior experience in volume service as a server. The ideal candidate should be familiar with all aspects of detailed steps of service as well as possess solid food and beverage knowledge. This includes understanding menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and beverage options to effectively advise and assist guests.
As a Server, the candidate will be responsible for meticulously managing their section before, during, and after shifts to maintain proper setup and cleanliness. Providing a warm greeting and acknowledging guests promptly sets a welcoming tone that aligns with the hotel’s dedication to perfect service. The Server must attentively record and verify all orders, ensuring accuracy before inputting them into the Point of Sale system. This role requires close coordination with kitchen staff to guarantee that all orders are delivered correctly and efficiently.
In addition to serving food and beverages, the Server is responsible for compliance with State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations, safeguarding both the establishment and its patrons. The Server also plays a vital role in enhancing guest satisfaction through timely beverage replenishment, promoting dessert items and specialty coffees, and engaging with guests to confirm enjoyment of their meals. This role is dynamic and requires flexibility to perform side work such as replenishing condiments, restocking side stands, clearing tables, and assisting bus staff when needed.
Furthermore, the Server may be called upon to handle various additional duties including answering telephones, taking room service orders, managing special requests, and seating guests according to established guidelines. Attendance at required staff meetings and maintaining a positive team dynamic with colleagues and management are integral parts of this position. Reporting to the General Manager and maintaining regular interaction with restaurant guests are essential components of the Server’s responsibilities.
The position seeks candidates who have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette. Familiarity with table settings, service ware, and menu items is expected. The ability to communicate effectively in English, remember and promote menu offerings, and physically manage demands such as carrying large trays weighing up to 40 pounds is required. Operating beverage and toast equipment competently is also part of the job.
Candidates should preferably be high school graduates with six months to one year of serving experience and prior hospitality exposure. Government-required licenses or certificates such as a Washington Health Card Permit, Oregon Liquor Service Permit, or Alcohol Service Permit are necessary. CPR certification and first aid training are considered advantageous. The role involves physical activity including lifting, walking, standing, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
The Boca Raton is proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace and ensuring a safe and supportive work environment through pre-employment substance abuse testing. This role offers an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals to join a prestigious hospitality team dedicated to delivering exemplary service and creating outstanding guest experiences.
