Job Description
Happy Hospitality is a vibrant restaurant group known for its unique and art-inspired dining establishments, namely Happy Camper, Homeslice, and Paradise Park. These venues are celebrated for their highly Instagrammable décor featuring murals, artistic vignettes, and lively atmospheres that create memorable experiences for guests. With a strong company culture as the foundation, Happy Hospitality has cultivated a loyal team that often stays with the company from its early days, fostering a sense of family and shared purpose. The group is rapidly expanding and seeks passionate, self-motivated individuals eager to grow alongside the brand and contribute to its dynamic environment. Their dedication to detail and creating enjoyable work environments makes them a sought-after employer in the hospitality industry.
Currently, Happy Hospitality is hiring for the Server position at Happy Camper located in Wrigleyville, Chicago, IL. The role involves providing top-tier, friendly, and efficient service to guests, ensuring an exceptional dining experience. Servers are expected to have extensive knowledge of the food and beverage menus, interact energetically with guests, and manage multiple tables with grace and professionalism. This position demands quick thinking, a polite yet fun attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The job offers an hourly wage starting at $12.62, which is the Chicago tipped minimum wage, plus tips, with average earnings for servers in this position ranging between $40 and $50 per hour total. The employment type is variable hour and non-exempt, reporting directly to the General Manager.
As a server, the candidate will play a critical role in guiding guests through their dining experience from greeting to billing, leveraging their food and beverage knowledge to describe menu features daily and delivering service with enthusiasm and urgency. Working collaboratively with bussers and the rest of the team, the server must maintain a clean and efficient dining area. The role also involves following strict health and safety regulations, performing opening and closing duties, and handling any guest-related concerns with professionalism. Physical demands include the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry heavy items such as trays of food and drinks, and adapt to varying noise levels and work environments. The company values positive attitudes and teamwork, especially in high-pressure situations.
Qualified candidates are at least 21 years old with a minimum of two years of serving experience in high-volume settings. They must be able to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends, be proficient at operating point-of-sale systems, and capable of multitasking in a busy restaurant atmosphere. Certifications in Basset and Food Handlers are necessary to meet regulatory standards. Benefits include referral bonuses, substantial dining discounts, flexible schedules, medical, dental, and vision options (eligibility based on tenure and hours), paid time off for vacation and sick leave, and free branded uniforms, all aimed at creating a supportive and rewarding workplace environment. Happy Hospitality upholds equal employment opportunities and embraces diversity in all forms, making it an inclusive employer for candidates legally eligible to work in the United States.
