Job Description
Happy Camper is a vibrant and dynamic restaurant brand known for its artistic and lively atmosphere, delicious food offerings, and exceptional hospitality. As part of the Happy Hospitality family, which also includes Homeslice and Paradise Park, Happy Camper sets itself apart with spaces that are rich in artistic murals, unique vignettes, and an abundance of Instagram-worthy lighting and décor. Located at 3211 N Pecos Street in Denver, Colorado, this rapidly expanding restaurant group has fostered a culture that emphasizes attention to detail, team collaboration, and a positive work environment. Many employees have grown with the brand from its inception, finding meaningful career paths within this evolving enterprise. With the continued growth of the brand, Happy Camper is committed to hiring team members who are enthusiastic, self-motivated, and eager to contribute to the company’s culture and success.
The role available at Happy Camper is for a Cashier and Runner. This position is essential to the smooth daily operation of the restaurant and involves managing all carryout transactions with precision and efficiency, as well as delivering food to customers at their tables to enhance the in-house dining experience. The Cashier/Runner is responsible for facilitating online orders through the restaurant’s POS system, answering phone calls to take carryout orders, and ensuring every food order is accurate before it reaches the customer. This position requires strong multitasking skills including managing third-party delivery apps such as Doordash, UberEats, Caviar, Postmates, and Grubhub. The Cashier and Runner acts as the face of the restaurant for carryout guests and plays a key role in maximizing customer satisfaction by providing friendly, attentive service.
Beyond the core responsibilities, team members in this role may be asked to support other restaurant functions such as restocking items, cleaning, and filling in for other roles as needed to ensure efficient operation. The work environment is active and fast-paced, requiring the ability to stand and walk for long shifts, handle food allergens safely according to health standards, and operate effectively in a space filled with music and customer traffic. This position offers an hourly wage of $19-20 per hour, based on experience, with the opportunity to earn an additional $2-4 per hour in tips. Benefits include paid time off, medical, dental, and vision options, employee dining discounts, flexible scheduling in a family-friendly environment, and a referral bonus program. Happy Camper provides a free uniform including up to two branded T-shirts.
Happy Camper is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity across all dimensions, including gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, religion, age, veteran status, life experiences, and ideas. The company encourages all interested candidates who are legally eligible to work in the United States to apply in person from Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. This role reports directly to the General Manager and is categorized as a non-exempt, variable hourly position within the Front of House department. Joining Happy Camper means becoming part of a team that prioritizes a fun and welcoming environment supported by excellent service and artistic expression.
