We are currently seeking a dependable and hardworking Houseperson to join our housekeeping department on a full-time basis. This role is central to our operations, ensuring the seamless flow between laundry services, guest-room readiness, and upkeep of public areas to uphold our hotel’s standards of cleanliness and appearance.

The Houseperson plays a crucial role in supporting both the laundry and guest-room attendants by managing the transport of clean and dirty linens, restocking supplies, and maintaining orderly public spaces. Additionally, this position involves responding promptly to guest requests, ensuring their satisfaction and comfort throughout their stay. With duties encompassing the collection and distribution of linens, removal of trash, cleaning of public restrooms and areas, and occasional assistance with guest-room cleaning, this role demands flexibility, attention to detail, and a proactive approach. The Houseperson is also responsible for adhering to safety and health regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and compliance with security protocols. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to thirty pounds unassisted
  • Ability to stand walk and use stairs for extended periods
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and proper usage
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to follow safety and health regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Familiar with housekeeping including sanitation laundry operation and guest service
  • Ability to lift up to thirty pounds unassisted
  • Ability to bend stretch stand walk and use stairs for duration of shift
  • Exposure to chemicals

Job Duties

  • Willingness to accept the most effective role
  • Restock inventory of stockrooms as needed
  • Support room attendants in stripping soiled linens towels and removing trash from guest-rooms
  • Collect soiled linen from vacant dirty guest-rooms and transport to laundry room
  • Distribute clean bath and bed linen from laundry to storerooms
  • Deliver items to guest-rooms upon request by guest
  • Pick up and return to storage any previously used guest request items found in guestrooms or corridors
  • Clean guest rooms and guest areas including making beds dusting vacuuming cleaning bathrooms cleaning windows and mirrors and replacing supplies
  • Communicate with supervisor for any special duties or requests
  • Maintain a safe secure and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures complying with security regulations
  • Follow procedures concerning protection against blood borne pathogens
  • Utilize chemicals according to directions and be familiar with all MSDS
  • Perform other duties as specified by the housekeeping supervisor on an as need basis
  • Maintain and clean public areas and public restrooms if no public space person is available
  • Ensure internal windows and doorways are free of fingerprints and smudges
  • Ensure that furniture and hard surfaces of public space are clean and organized
  • Ensure public space floors are free of debris
  • Report any carpet spots or spills to supervisor
  • Empty all waste receptacles in public spaces
