Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months prior cooking experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical activities such as walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Ability to maintain safety and sanitation standards
- Must be self-motivated and able to work under pressure
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months prior prep cooking or line cook experience preferred
- Ability to take direction and work within a team environment
- Problem solving abilities
- Self-motivated and organized
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Commitment to quality customer service
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Job Duties
- Prepares food items exactly according to the recipe every time
- Uses measuring devices and scales to control food costs
- Follows recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set by the Lead Cook
- Ensures proper recipe procedures to maintain a high quality and consistent product
- Keeps updated on any recipe changes
- Cleans and maintains workstation while practicing exceptional safety, sanitation, and organizational skills
- Checks to see that all food items are covered, rotated, stored properly, and are dated
- Ensures all food meets the standard of excellence
- Has understanding and knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all equipment within the kitchen
- Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality of products served
- Tracks and reports any food waste, breakage, or transfers between departments
- Communicates with Prep Cooks, Dining Attendants, and other restaurant employees
- Prepares food for guests with food allergies or intolerances
- Follows opening and closing duties as directed
- Identifies guest needs and responds proactively to all their concerns
- Completes periodic cleaning projects
- Maintains a teamwork effort
- Performs other duties as assigned
