This Student Intermediate Level role, titled Guest Services Support, is a unique and integral position within the Food Services department at UNM, specifically based on the main campus in Albuquerque. This opportunity is designed for student employment, providing a flexible, part-time hourly role at $14.00 to $16.00 per hour. The position offers a blend of operational support, customer service, and event coordination primarily focused around the University Club and also supports the LoboCard Office and Food Services.
The successful candidate will serve as a Guest Services and Event Assistant, playing a pivotal role in ensuring seamless daily operations and smooth execution of special events at the University Club. The role requires a professional yet friendly approach, with strong customer service skills and the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals including students, faculty, staff, and external clients. Attention to detail is critical as the job entails event scheduling, timely communications, assisting with inventory management, and providing administrative support across various departments.
Evening and weekend work hours may be required depending on event scheduling, making flexibility in availability an important aspect of this position. Core responsibilities include assisting the University Club manager, scheduling events using specialized event management software, giving tours of event spaces, and managing event logistics to ensure goals and client satisfaction are met.
Beyond event execution, the role involves maintaining accurate records, reports, and files using office software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Coordination with catering, audio visual services, and other event stakeholders is essential for providing a comprehensive guest experience. The candidate will also help address inquiries via phone and email, support vending solutions and other special projects for UNM Food Services, and assist with administrative duties to ensure smooth department operations.

Job Duties
- Assist the University Club manager with daily operations and special event planning for members
- Deliver excellent customer service to faculty, staff, and students
- Give tours of the event space
- Schedule events using event management software
- Answer phone call and email inquiries about renting meeting rooms or event space
- Assist clients and coordinate schedules with event planning logistics, catering, and on-site coordination
- Facilitate events on-site ensuring operations align with event goals and resolve issues as they arise
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate logistical activities for special events including registration, meeting facilities, and equipment arrangements
- Maintain records, reports, and files using Excel, Word, or PowerPoint
- Assist with administrative duties for multiple departments
- Support UNM Food with inventory management, vending solutions, and special projects
- Manage multiple tasks, adhere to dependable schedule, and communicate scheduling needs
