ZooTampa at Lowry Park is a premier zoological park located in Tampa, Florida, known as one of the most popular zoos in the southeastern United States. Job Requirements
- Conduct activities in alignment with AZA standards and relevant laws
- ability to work in extreme weather and stand or walk extended periods
- ability to use radio, telephone, and computer for communication
- manual dexterity for typing and handling tools
- cognitive auditory and visual acuity to perform duties and safety practices
- willingness to work varied and long shifts including holidays and weekends
- ability to plan and staff special events and unexpected shifts
- ability to work in various physical positions and lift and carry 30 lbs
- ability to navigate paved and uneven pathways
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- customer service experience preferred
- effective communication skills to develop positive relationships
- ability to complete projects on time
- courteous and tactful interaction with public and staff
- effective time management and good decision-making skills
- ability to follow instructions
- flexibility to multitask and maintain positive attitude
- data entry experience including minimum typing speed of 40 wpm and alphanumeric speed of 8,000 kph
- cash handling experience preferred
- ability to contribute ideas effectively to the department
Job Duties
- Greet and assist guests at the front gate
- sell tickets and upsell annual memberships and premium experiences
- answer guest inquiries in person and over the phone
- perform guest screening at point of entry
- enforce policies and procedures diplomatically
- handle payment transactions accurately using cash register and computer
- perform data entry using the Galaxy database including memberships and third-party tickets
- maintain cleanliness and organization of admission and front plaza areas
- follow daily schedules and safety guidelines
