This part-time, non-exempt position offers a pay rate of $17.48 per hour and requires a proactive and enthusiastic individual who excels in customer service environments. The representative is responsible for performing front desk functions which include welcoming visitors, selling admission tickets, and maintaining a welcoming and organized lobby area. This person acts as the face of the institution, ensuring every guest receives friendly, accurate, and prompt service. In addition to providing ticketing services, the role involves answering guest inquiries both in person and over the phone, resolving concerns efficiently, and creating a positive and memorable experience for all guests.\n\nTo succeed in this role, the Guest Services Representative must be knowledgeable about the Center's many exhibits and programs, allowing them to share insights that enhance the visitor experience. The position also requires teamwork to keep the lobby clean and presentable, assist with coat check and stroller rentals, and operate exhibits when needed. An important aspect of the role includes maintaining guest safety and providing wayfinding assistance throughout the facility. In cases of emergency, the representative must be prepared to carry out the appropriate protocols and procedures. The role demands physical stamina as it involves standing, walking, bending, and occasionally lifting items up to 20 pounds unassisted. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • availability to work peak days and hours including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred
  • ability to handle everyday risks and discomforts typical of office and public settings
  • capacity to walk, stand, bend, and carry light items up to 20 pounds unassisted and 50 pounds assisted
  • ability to sit comfortably when needed
  • manual dexterity and visual and auditory acuity
  • willingness to perform repetitive motions

Job Qualifications

  • Preferred previous guest relations experience
  • strong customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Welcome visitors and sell admission tickets

  • balance cash drawer at the end of each day
