The role offered is for a Guest Services Representative, a vital front office position responsible for assisting guests efficiently, courteously, and professionally. This position involves managing all front office functions and acting as the General Manager's representative in their absence. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in hospitality or front office operations preferred
- valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
- ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- basic computer skills including proficiency with operating systems
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to stand for extended periods
- physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- ability to travel locally to other properties and bank as needed
Job Qualifications
- Possess a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and functioning automobile
- ability to read, understand, interpret hotel reports and internal information
- read, speak, write and understand English to interact with guests and staff
- possess sufficient mathematical skills to calculate room revenue, average rate, occupancy percentage, and balance cash bank
- general computer proficiency
- thorough knowledge of front office and related operations, service standards, guest relations, upselling techniques
- ability to perform various front office positions to meet business needs
- ability to express thoughts concisely for effective communication
- ability and flexibility to work long hours as required
- ability to manage multiple activities under stress and time constraints
- effective time management skills
- ability to make sound judgments and solve operational and guest problems
Job Duties
- Ensure reservations are taken correctly and courteously
- represent hotel in a professional and courteous manner, check guests in and out timely and efficiently
- be proficient in computer operating system
- be available at all times to deal with guest issues professionally
- notify General Manager or equivalent immediately of any guest, employee, or cash concerns
- provide guidance to property staff as needed
- ensure compliance with safety and security standards
- report to Regional Operations Manager in General Manager’s absence
- responsible for bank deposits in General Manager’s absence
- identify and follow up on life/safety and inspection issues
- notify General Manager or equivalent immediately of any safety or security violations of policy
- leave all desk and office areas clean and neat
- take responsibility for ensuring property is always clean and free of trash and debris
