The role of Guest Services Liaison at University Medical Center Phoenix is an essential part of creating an exceptional healthcare hospitality experience. This position involves being the welcoming face for patients and visitors alike, providing warm greetings and expert guidance throughout the facility. The Guest Services Liaison plays a pivotal role in coordinating the patient experience by assisting with wayfinding, handling visitor authorizations, facilitating transportation arrangements, and responding to special requests. This dynamic role serves as a trusted resource and liaison between guests and care teams, ensuring that every interaction reflects the hospital’s dedication to outstanding customer service.

This position works primarily during the evening shift from 1pm to 9:30pm, with rotating weekend hours. It requires a compassionate, patient-centered individual who excels in communication and problem-solving independently. Candidates with a high school diploma or GED, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a passion for helping others will find this opportunity rewarding. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to handle ongoing face-to-face contact with patients, guests and staff
  • Excellent oral communication and listening skills
  • Ability to interact pleasantly and calmly with patients, guests and staff
  • Reliable availability to work evening shifts including rotating weekends

Job Duties

  • Meets, greets and assists patients and guests and provides general information regarding the services, the facility, and geographical area
  • Responds to special requests from patients, customers and guests
  • Makes special arrangements to ensure unique needs are met
  • Assists patients and guests with scheduling transportation or other services as needed
  • Gathers, summarizes and provides information to patients and their guests about the property and surrounding area amenities and establishments
  • Coordinates patient needs with other departments or areas
  • Contacts appropriate individual or department as necessary to resolve patient requests
  • Coordinates access to the care delivery area
  • Performs visitor authorization procedures
  • Serves as a liaison between visitors and staff
  • Relays visitor concerns to staff
  • Coordinates visitor support services
  • Answers phone, transfers calls, takes messages and relays messages and information as needed
  • Provides tours of the facility and walks customers to appropriate areas within the facility
  • Performs functions within established parameters
  • Assists with patient and guest inquiries to ensure a positive experience
