Job Description
The Memphis Grizzlies are a professional basketball team that competes in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Known for their passionate fan base and vibrant game-day atmosphere, the Memphis Grizzlies play their home games at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee. As a major player in sports and entertainment within the region, the organization is dedicated to delivering an exceptional experience to fans and guests attending events at their arena. Currently, the Memphis Grizzlies are seeking enthusiastic and welcoming Guest Services Hosts to join their team. This is a dynamic part-time role focused on delivering outstanding front-line customer service to all guests visiting the FedExForum during basketball games and other events. The position plays a critical role in ensuring that every visitor receives a warm welcome, efficient assistance, and prompt resolution of any concerns to optimize the overall guest experience. Training for this role begins in July, with event duties commencing in September to coincide with the basketball season. As a Guest Services Host, you will be expected to engage guests using the S.A.U.C.E. customer engagement initiative, maintain your assigned area, and ensure guests have the proper credentials for entry. Additionally, hosts support efforts to maintain safety and order within their sections, manage special requests courteously, and proactively address any issues or inquiries from attendees. Shifts typically start as early as 5:00 pm for basketball games and can end as late as 1:00 am, including a variety of non-basketball events with varying start times. This role requires flexibility, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for working in a fast-paced sports and entertainment environment where guest satisfaction is paramount.

Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum one-year hospitality, guest service or other direct customer contact experience with emphasis on exceptional customer service and satisfaction
- Must be able to work in a variety of environments including standing for extended periods, working at heights, tight or enclosed spaces such as elevators, darkened arenas, crowded areas, loud or noisy settings, and areas with flashing lights
- Must have availability to start shifts as early as 5:00 pm for basketball games, start times vary for non-basketball events
- Shifts can end as late as 1:00 am
- Must be available to work at least 80 percent of arena events
- Strong communication, written and interpersonal skills
- Must be people-oriented and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment
- Must have the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, guests, clients and VIP's
- Must be energetic, positive, self-motivated, diplomatic, mature and professional
- Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs
- Must have a passion for the sports and entertainment industry
Job Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older

Job Duties
- Ensures all guests are greeted upon arrival and first impression standards are met
- Maintains designated station during scheduled event time
- Ensures all clients have correct tickets and or credentials to enter the host area of control
- Learns the layout of FedExForum and re-directs guests to the correct areas of the building when assistance is needed
- Promotes personal guest relations and ensures all arena guests receive a consistently high standard of service and quality
- Demonstrates customer engagement initiatives in customer interactions for all FedExForum events
- Monitors position assigned section(s), assists guests with seat location, and watches for seat hoppers
- Remains in position unless redeployed by Supervisor or full-time staff member
- Services and fulfills individual requests with expedience and care
- Responds to all inquiries, suggestions, and concerns from guests
- Advises, and immediately follows up with their Guest Relations Supervisor with any reported problems or concerns
- Accepts, upon rotation, additional event responsibilities including chair break down, ticket scanning, elevator/disabled lift operation, and attends pre-and post-event briefings
- Supplies detailed event information to the Guest Relations Supervisor during shifts so that event issues have been resolved or passed on
- Performs other duties as assigned
