Located in Wilmington, North Carolina, the college serves a vibrant community by offering a variety of programs tailored to student and community needs. Among its divisions, the Wilson Center stands out as a premier venue dedicated to hosting exceptional cultural and entertainment events aimed at enriching the social and artistic fabric of the region. CFCC operates with a strong commitment to equal employment and educational opportunities, ensuring accessibility and support for all individuals regardless of background or status.

The Wilson Center, part of CFCC's dynamic campus environment, is actively seeking a dedicated Front-of-House Event Supervisor. This full-time professional role is pivotal in administering outstanding guest services and managing the front-of-house operations at the Center. The position is located at the Wilmington - Downtown Campus and offers a monthly salary of $3,584, reflecting the institution's competitive compensation package.

As a Front-of-House Event Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for creating and executing an exceptional guest experience program for all events hosted at the Wilson Center. This includes coordinating event-specific logistics, ensuring compliance with regulations such as NC ABC laws and ADA services, managing concessions and merchandise sales, and directing parking and seating arrangements. The role involves providing direct supervision to part-time guest experience staff and volunteers, ensuring that they perform their duties effectively while maintaining the highest standards of service and safety.

The ability to maintain calmness and decisiveness during emergency situations is essential, as is the capability to motivate and evaluate staff performance, recommend disciplinary actions when necessary, and uphold the Wilson Center's brand guidelines in every aspect of front-of-house service.

The ideal candidate brings significant experience in the service industry, preferably with a background in performing arts, events management, banquet services, restaurant, or retail operations. Supervisory skills and an Associate's Degree or higher are preferred. Candidates must be able to work independently with sound judgment, work weekend and evening hours as required, and wear the mandated uniform during service hours.

This role not only demands excellent organizational and supervisory abilities but also a deep commitment to customer service excellence, effective communication, and ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse array of clients, artists, staff, and the general public. The position plays a crucial role in shaping the guest experience and contributing to the Wilson Center's reputation as a world-class event venue that is welcoming, safe, and efficient.

Applicants are expected to provide unofficial transcripts or training certifications during the application process and must submit official transcripts before their hire date. The college insists on validation of any foreign academic credentials by an approved evaluation service. CFCC is committed to welcoming veterans and provides equal opportunities in employment. The institution offers an array of state benefits to eligible employees, emphasizing both personal well-being and professional growth.

In summary, this Front-of-House Event Supervisor role at Cape Fear Community College's Wilson Center offers a meaningful career opportunity for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional event experiences within a respected educational and cultural institution.
