Job Description

Tahoe Mountain Club is a prestigious four-season social club nestled within the beautiful mountain town of Truckee, California, just minutes from Lake Tahoe. Known for its dedication to creating memorable experiences, the club provides members and guests with opportunities to build upon family traditions, embark on new adventures, and forge lifelong friendships. The club operates various luxury facilities, including the Old Greenwood and Gray's Crossing Championship golf courses, swim, tennis, and fitness centers, the Alpine Club ski valet and lounge at Northstar Village, and Schaffer's Camp for on-mountain private dining at Northstar California. This diverse array of offerings highlights the club’s commitment to providing exceptional recreational and social experiences year-round. Tahoe Mountain Club is recognized for its inclusive and respectful work environment, upholding equal employment opportunity without discrimination based on any protected status. All staff members are encouraged to foster a collaborative atmosphere where everyone contributes to the club’s high standards and guest satisfaction.

As a Guest Services Assistant at Tahoe Mountain Club, you will be an integral member of the Guest Services Team, responsible for supporting the club’s commitment to outstanding service and operational excellence. This role emphasizes acquiring and applying skills from the club’s comprehensive training program, which includes language and operational trainings designed to enhance your ability to interact with members and maintain club facilities. Your main responsibilities will involve ensuring the exceptional presentation and maintenance of all physical properties related to golf operations. This includes managing golf carts, practice balls, cart storage areas, and other related equipment essential for daily operations. You will be expected to demonstrate basic knowledge of typical golf course procedures, retrieve golf carts on request, load and unload golf bags, and communicate effectively with members and other staff.

A critical part of this role includes ensuring smooth flow on the course by informing members of any unusual conditions and coordinating with other outside service staff to make sure players tee off at their scheduled times. The position also involves greeting members at the end of their rounds, recording finishing times, and reporting these to the Golf Shop. Additional duties may include cleaning golf clubs and maintaining golf carts and their storage areas. Sometimes, you may be required to perform starting and marshalling duties as needed. Due to the dynamic nature of the club’s operations, flexibility is key, and you may be called upon to assist in a variety of tasks beyond those specifically outlined, reflecting a team-oriented environment.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, or at least two years of related experience. Effective communication skills in English are essential, as you will need to interact with English-speaking members and co-workers, as well as understand operational manuals. Certification in golf cart safety is required to safely operate and manage golf cart activities. Tahoe Mountain Club offers a vibrant workplace culture where you will have the opportunity to develop professionally while contributing to the club’s mission of delivering exceptional member and guest experiences. If you are passionate about golf operations and guest services, and thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment, this role offers rewarding opportunities to be part of a renowned mountain club community.
