This role reports directly to the Director of Guest Services and operates within the Guest Services Department. As an hourly, non-exempt employee, the position offers a wage of $18 per hour and includes a variable schedule that may include weekends, evenings, and overnight shifts to accommodate the diverse scheduling needs of event operations.

As a Guest Services Agent at Legends Global/Salt Palace Convention, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety, security, and comfort of all attendees and staff throughout the venue. This entails patrolling the premises on foot, monitoring security cameras, and enforcing venue regulations diligently. You will be the first line of defense against unauthorized access, helps deter potential issues through vigilant observation, and quickly responds to any emergencies or incidents that may occur. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and responsibly are crucial for success in this role. The position demands physical stamina to perform activities including heavy lifting, climbing, and extensive walking, with the required ability to carry loads up to 75 pounds and work outdoors under various weather conditions.

Beyond security functions, the Guest Services Agent is a key ambassador for Legends Global with direct interactions spanning from management and coworkers to clients, exhibitors, and attendees. Effective communication skills are essential, encompassing telephone etiquette and proficiency in email and text communications. The agent must also demonstrate dependability, teamwork, and a strong customer service orientation. The role includes maintaining detailed incident reports, handling communications via multi-channel radios, and securing the venue during and after business hours.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check
  • Prior security experience preferred
  • Good customer service skills including telephone etiquette email and text communications
  • Dependable team-oriented and customer service oriented
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage self independently
  • Ability to interact with people on all levels such as management co-workers clients exhibitors and attendees

Job Duties

  • Ensures the safety and protection of attendees and staff within the venue
  • Observes and identifies possible unauthorized visitors and takes measures to correct situations
  • Enforces all venue regulations and procedures
  • Responds to medical or incidental emergencies and completes any necessary incident reports or collecting witness statements
  • Helps maintain round-the-clock surveillance of the venue both by on foot patrols and oversight of the venue security cameras
  • Helps maintain records of problem personnel and/or incidents on venue property
  • Secures venue outside business hours and keeps records of after-hours access
  • Uses and monitors multi-channel radio and communication system to relay information and maintains communications center
  • Monitors recording and video surveillance equipment
  • Perform other duties or special projects as needed
