The role of Guest Services Agent at Legends Global - Salt Palace Convention Center is a crucial frontline position within the Guest Services Department, reporting directly to the Director of Safety and Security. This full-time, hourly, non-exempt position offers a wage of $20 per hour and requires on-site work with flexible scheduling that includes evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays to accommodate the event-driven nature of the venue. The Guest Services Agent acts as the eyes and ears of the venue’s security operation, ensuring the safety and protection of all event attendees, staff, and property. Responsibilities include continuous patrolling of the venue, monitoring security cameras, and enforcing venue rules and regulations with professionalism and vigilance.

Beyond traditional security functions, this role involves direct interaction with guests and staff members, which means excellent customer service skills are essential. The agent must be able to identify and manage unauthorized visitors, respond effectively to medical or incidental emergencies, and maintain detailed records of any incidents or suspicious behaviors. Given the physical demands of the position, candidates should be prepared for frequent walking, stair climbing, standing on hard surfaces, and occasional heavy lifting up to 75 pounds. The position also involves the use of two-way radios and surveillance technology to maintain effective communication and situational awareness throughout the venue.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check
  • Prior security experience preferred
  • Good customer service skills including telephone etiquette, email, and text communications

Job Duties

  • Ensures the safety and protection of attendees and staff within the venue
  • Observes and identifies possible unauthorized visitors and takes measures to correct situations
  • Enforces all venue regulations and procedures
  • Responds to medical or incidental emergencies and completes any necessary incident reports or collecting witness statements
  • Helps maintain round-the-clock surveillance of the venue both by on foot patrols and oversight of the venue security cameras
  • Helps maintain records of problem personnel and or incidents on venue property
  • Secures venue outside business hours and keeps records of after-hours access
  • Uses and monitors multi-channel radio and communication system to relay information and maintains communications center
  • Monitors recording and video surveillance equipment
  • Performs other duties or special projects as needed
