The Guest Services Agent role at the Luskin Conference Center is a pivotal position responsible for managing the front desk operations on a 24-hour basis. This position is integral to the guest experience, serving as the first and last point of contact for visitors, guests, and vendors. Utilizing a property management system (PMS), the Guest Services Agent will handle critical tasks such as guest check-ins and check-outs, processing payments on guest accounts, and managing room reservations, changes, and cancellations. Beyond the administrative responsibilities, the role demands a strong customer service orientation to support guests with inquiries about the campus and local area, assist with message acceptance, luggage storage, and transportation coordination. This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $26.42 to $37.49, reflecting the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Job Qualifications

  • 1 plus years in-person customer service experience
  • Hotel or hospitality industry experience
  • Experience working in a university setting
  • Proficient skill using standard business software and property management software
  • Ability to sufficiently communicate in written and verbal English
  • Skill in writing grammatically correct business English
  • Skill in interacting effectively with guests, team members, and managers
  • Ability to engage with diverse populations respectfully
  • Ability to operate independently with good judgment
  • Ability to prioritize assignments with changing workload
  • Ability to work efficiently under frequent interruptions
  • Knowledge of university accounting and cash handling procedures
  • Demonstrated ability operating electronic cash registers
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain detailed and accurate records
  • Ability to remain calm in face of adversity

Job Duties

  • Operate 24-hour front desk at Luskin Conference Center
  • Perform guest check-in and check-out using property management system
  • Post guest payments on accounts
