As a Front Desk Agent at Courtyard by Marriott Newark, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding guest experiences. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that every guest feels welcomed, comfortable, and valued from the moment they step into the hotel. In your day-to-day duties, you will organize, confirm, and process guest check-in and check-out records while adapting to any changes. You will handle guest payments by verifying and adjusting billing as necessary to ensure accuracy. Furthermore, you will be responsible for completing daily reports, reviewing them to communicate relevant information to the next shift, and managing cash handling tasks with precision. You will also accept and log wake-up calls for guests, communicate emergencies or security concerns to the appropriate authorities or personnel, and maintain contingency lists for emergency situations.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in guest services or hospitality preferred
- ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods
- ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 10 pounds
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- commitment to quality standards and guest service excellence

Job Duties
- organize, confirm and process guest check-in and check-out records and adapt to changes

- provide guests with room assignments, hotel information, directions, amenities, and local points of interest
- complete daily reports and review information to communicate to the next shift
- complete cashier and closing reports and accurately count cash at the end of each shift
- accept and log wake-up calls for guests and notify the appropriate department
- communicate emergencies, lost items, or theft cases to the appropriate authorities or security personnel
- maintain contingency lists for emergencies and communicate necessary messages
