Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, celebrated for its commitment to quality, innovation, and exceptional guest experiences. Among its prestigious portfolio is The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, which encompasses over 120 unique properties across more than 35 countries. This distinguished brand offers authentic luxury experiences that are deeply connected to the cultural heritage and local charm of each destination, ranging from legendary palaces and historic retreats to modern architectural marvels. The Luxury Collection draws on a rich legacy dating back to 1906 with the Italian CIGA brand, renowned for its iconic European properties. Today, it continues to evolve, aiming to surpass the expectations of discerning luxury travelers worldwide.
Located at 465 S La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles, California, The Luxury Collection is seeking a dedicated Front Desk Associate to join their Rooms & Guest Services Operations team. This role is full-time, non-management, and based onsite, offering an hourly pay that starts at $27.38 and increases to $30.81 after nine months and $34.23 after 18 months. The position demands keen attention to detail, superior customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, luxury hotel environment.
The Front Desk Associate serves as the vital first point of contact for guests, responsible for managing the entire check-in and check-out process, handling room reservations including requests, changes, and cancellations, and ensuring accurate billing and payment security. This role requires activating and filing room keys, processing all guest requests, and effectively communicating with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience. The associate is also tasked with maintaining detailed records for security and emergency purposes, explaining room features and hotel amenities to guests, and providing information about local attractions to enrich the guests' stay.
In addition to guest-facing responsibilities, the Front Desk Associate handles financial duties such as counting the bank at the beginning and end of the shift, processing various payment types, adjustments, paid-outs, and miscellaneous charges, and ensuring all transactions are meticulously recorded. The associate must also uphold Marriott's high standards of safety and security, reporting any incidents of theft to Loss Prevention or Security.
This role is integral to embodying Marriott International's values by providing anticipatory, personalized service with genuine appreciation to every guest. The associate plays a key part in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment that respects diversity and supports team collaboration to achieve common goals. The position also requires compliance with company policies, maintenance of professional appearance, confidentiality of proprietary information, and adherence to all quality assurance standards.
Physically, the job demands the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and to move, lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. This dynamic position offers opportunities to enhance one's professional skills within a prestigious global hospitality group while contributing to memorable guest experiences.
By joining The Luxury Collection and Marriott International, associates become part of a global family that values diversity, talent, and inclusivity, providing opportunities to grow and excel. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about luxury hospitality, storytelling, cultural heritage, and delivering superior guest service in a vibrant and supportive work environment.
