Job Description

Marriott International is a global leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences and fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. With a rich heritage of over 90 years, Marriott has established itself as a premier brand that combines luxury with comfort across its numerous properties worldwide. The Westin brand, part of the Marriott portfolio, focuses on wellness-oriented hospitality, aiming to empower guests to enhance their well-being while traveling. The brand's mission is to be the preeminent wellness provider in the hospitality industry, ensuring guests can feel their best during their stay. This commitment extends beyond guests to associates, encouraging them to embrace well-being practices and foster a positive, supportive work environment.

This position is seasonal, full-time, and non-management, located at the Westin property situated at 1900 5th Ave, Seattle, Washington. The role offers an hourly pay range of $26.71 to $29.68, providing competitive compensation for guest service professionals who are passionate about delivering outstanding customer service. The employee will be part of a dynamic guest services operations team dedicated to upholding Marriott's high standards and ensuring memorable stays for all guests.

The primary responsibilities include organizing, confirming, processing, and conducting all guest check-ins and check-outs, managing room reservations, requests, changes, and cancellations efficiently. The role requires securing payment, verifying and adjusting billing, and activating and filing room keys accurately. This position also handles guest communications, processes various payment types including adjustment vouchers and correction vouchers, and maintains detailed records such as contingency lists for emergency purposes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving any outstanding guest issues from previous shifts.

Beyond operational duties, the associate will provide guests with essential information about room features, property amenities, services, hours of operation, and local areas of interest, enhancing the overall guest experience. This role demands adherence to company policies and procedures, upholding safety standards, professional appearance, and confidentiality of proprietary information. Exceptionally strong communication skills are vital, as the employee will welcome guests according to company standards, anticipate guest needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and maintain positive and professional interactions with both guests and team members.

At Westin, the culture appreciates passion, optimism, and adventure, encouraging associates to be active and conscious of their well-being, which aligns with the brand's wellness mission. Employees are supported through various benefits such as a 401(k) plan, stock purchase options, discounts at Marriott properties, commuter benefits, employee assistance programs, and childcare discounts. Full-time positions include medical, dental, vision coverage, flexible spending accounts, life and disability insurance, accident insurance, adoption expense reimbursements, paid parental leave, and educational assistance. Washington-based employees also accrue paid sick leave and are eligible for a minimum of seven holidays annually.

This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment, are customer-service oriented, enjoy working as part of a team, and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and guest satisfaction. Those passionate about wellness and service excellence will find a fulfilling and supportive career path at Westin under the Marriott International umbrella.
