The New Brighton Parks and Recreation Department is a community-focused organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents by providing a variety of recreational programs, facilities, and services. The role of Guest Service Receptionist is an integral part of the New Brighton Parks and Recreation Department’s objective to deliver a positive experience for all patrons. This position involves providing customer service, administrative support, and light housekeeping duties within the NBCC. The Guest Service Receptionist is the first point of contact for visitors, responsible for greeting walk-in customers, answering incoming phone inquiries, and assisting patrons with program registrations and memberships. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask efficiently across various responsibilities.
Scheduled on weekends with flexible shifts between 8:45 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., the position offers between 5 to 10 hours per week, making it ideal for individuals seeking part-time opportunities with community engagement. Key responsibilities include completing transactions accurately in the department’s database, maintaining a clean and organized reception and common area, and assisting with opening and closing procedures for the community center. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- availability to work weekends including Saturdays and Sundays
- ability to work rotating shifts between 8:45 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
- good communication skills
- basic proficiency with computers for data entry
- previous customer service experience preferred
- ability to perform light housekeeping tasks as needed
