The department is staffed by professionals who are passionate about serving the community, fostering a welcoming environment, and supporting city-wide initiatives that encourage healthy, active lifestyles. New Brighton prides itself on strong community engagement, safety, and excellence in public service, striving to create memorable moments for all patrons and visitors alike.
The role of Guest Service Receptionist within the Parks and Recreation Department is pivotal in maintaining this standard of community service. This position is primarily responsible for serving as the first point of contact for visitors and callers. The receptionist handles a wide array of customer service activities which include assisting patrons with registration and membership transactions, responding to inquiries, and providing support to City and facility staff. The job schedule is designated for weekdays, specifically Wednesday and Friday, from 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., offering a structured yet dynamic work environment. Ideal candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills, outstanding customer service, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. This role demands a courteous and tactful demeanor that reflects positively on the City at all times. Additionally, the Guest Service Receptionist embraces the City’s core values of innovation, excellence, optimism, and connection, contributing to a positive workplace culture and community reputation. This entry-level position requires a basic but sturdy foundation in clerical duties, data entry, and the use of Microsoft Office applications. The City of New Brighton supports ongoing learning and professional development, ensuring their staff are well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of the community. Overall, this role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to combine their skills in customer service with a commitment to civic engagement and community enrichment.
