Job Description

CineLux Theatres is a well-established, community-based movie theater company rooted in the Bay Area. Founded in 1966 with its first location in Campbell, CineLux Theatres has grown into a beloved local chain that operates exclusively throughout Silicon Valley and Santa Cruz County. The company remains family-owned and family-operated, dedicated to creating a friendly entertainment escape for moviegoers. Over the decades, CineLux Theatres has built a strong reputation for offering a unique movie-going experience that combines comfort, quality, and excellent customer service. The theaters are known not only for their great movie selections but also for an inviting atmosphere that appeals to families and film enthusiasts alike. CineLux Theatres is committed to maintaining a warm and welcoming environment, driven by a staff that shares a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

CineLux Theatres is currently looking to add enthusiastic and motivated individuals to their team for the position of Guest Service Host. This role is a fantastic opportunity for those who love movies and have a passion for providing outstanding customer service. As a Guest Service Host, you will serve as the face of CineLux, greeting guests, answering questions, and ensuring every movie visit is enjoyable and hassle-free. This part-time, non-exempt role offers 15-30 hours per week and reports directly to the General Manager of the theater. The position features a flexible schedule, accommodating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, perfect for candidates seeking work that fits around other commitments.

The Guest Service Host role encompasses multiple responsibilities, primarily centered around two key areas: Box Office Host and Concessions Host. As a Box Office Host, you will be responsible for selling tickets and gift cards, assisting customers with questions about movie content and ratings, providing directions within the theater, and promoting current deals and prices. Daily maintenance of the box office area and preparation of reports also fall under your duties. In the Concessions Host capacity, you will engage guests with friendly service at the food and beverage counter, assembling orders accurately, operating point-of-sale terminals, and ensuring the concession area stays clean and well-stocked. This includes maintaining the cooking equipment, counters, glass cases, and condiment stations.

CineLux Theatres values team members who bring an outgoing, positive, and enthusiastic attitude daily. The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, fun environment is essential. Physical demands are part of the role; the employee must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Bending, lifting, reaching, as well as sitting or standing for extended periods, are routine parts of the job.

Working at CineLux Theatres comes with a range of exciting and valuable benefits for employees. Hosts enjoy free movies not only for themselves but also for family and friends, free access to big-screen gaming experiences, and discounted concessions. Career advancement opportunities are supported, making this position ideal for those looking to grow within the company. The workplace culture emphasizes fun and teamwork, making every shift enjoyable. Moreover, CineLux pays competitive wages and offers overtime pay on holidays. The company prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds who demonstrate dedication and enthusiasm for the movie business.
