Job Requirements
- Ability to speak, hear and understand spoken English to communicate effectively with customers
- Ability to see well enough to operate store equipment, check identification, and use price book
- Ability to understand and operate all store equipment
- Ability to prepare DipSide items
- Ability to handle coins, currency, checks, credit transactions, coupons and food stamps
- Ability to recognize numbers, count and do arithmetic to complete records
- Ability to move merchandise from storage to shelves, displays, freezers and milk box
- Ability to clean counters and other surfaces
- Ability to tolerate exposure to temperatures as low as -30 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 2 minutes
- Ability to tolerate exposure to temperatures as low as 33 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 10 minutes
- Ability to raise at least 10 pounds from floor level to height of 5 feet
- Ability to place a package weighing 21 pounds into a dip cabinet 3 feet above the floor
- Must be at least 16 years old to work
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous customer service experience is beneficial
- Basic math and cash handling skills
- Ability to operate POS systems and related equipment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prepare food items following safety guidelines
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with policies
Job Duties
- Provide the signature UDF Hi Five Guest Experience
- Greet guests with a warm, authentic hello
- Ensure store is prepared and ready for guests at all times
- Anticipate needs of guests and provide assistance
- Prepare shakes, malts, cups, cones of ice cream, yogurt, sundaes, sodas, and hand-packed containers
- Operate Point of Sale system and gas console accurately
- Register all transactions including handling various payment methods
- Stock shelves, displays, milk box, and freezers
- Maintain dip cabinet and ensure presentable appearance
- Ensure coffee pots and ice dispensers are full
- Rotate stock properly and check for expired products
- Maintain security by minimizing shoplifting and gas drive-offs
- Control cash levels with proper procedures
- Follow tobacco/alcohol management and robbery/violence deterrence programs
- Maintain store and parking lot cleanliness and safety
- Clean store equipment and monitor refrigeration temperatures
- Complete time records and Customer First Document accurately
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
