Job Description

United Dairy Farmers (UDF) is a well-established convenience store and dairy farm company known for its commitment to quality products and excellent customer service. Founded on the tradition of delivering dairy products fresh and fast, UDF has grown into a popular convenience store chain with locations primarily in Ohio and neighboring states. The company prides itself on its dedication to the local community and strives to maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for every customer. With a comprehensive range of products including dairy items, snacks, beverages, and gasoline, UDF offers a one-stop experience for customers in a clean and efficient environment. It is a company that upholds strong values centered around integrity, quality, and customer satisfaction.

The role of a Guest Services Associate at United Dairy Farmers is vital to maintaining the high standard of service the company is known for. This position is part-time, with the possibility of working any of the first, second, or third shifts for up to 25 hours a week. The pay range offered is competitive, falling between $12.50 and $14.50 per hour. The Guest Services Associate reports directly to the Store Manager and is an active participant in delivering what UDF calls the "Hi Five Guest Experience," which includes inviting guests, warmly welcoming them, ensuring they are well-served, respected, and ultimately fulfilled during their visit.

The primary responsibility of the Guest Services Associate is to provide outstanding, friendly, and efficient customer service. This role involves greeting customers with a warm and authentic hello, preparing the store to be guest-ready at all times, and anticipatorily assisting customers to ensure they have an enjoyable shopping experience. The position also entails preparing various DipSide items such as shakes, malts, ice cream cones, sundaes, and other delicious treats, ensuring quality and consistency.

Additionally, the Guest Services Associate will be tasked with the efficient operation of the point-of-sale system and gas console, handling transactions with accuracy, including coins, currency, checks, credit cards, coupons, and food stamps. Stocking merchandise, maintaining the appearance and readiness of the store’s shelves and refrigeration units, and ensuring supplies like coffee pots and ice dispensers are full are other key responsibilities. The position also requires maintaining awareness of security concerns to minimize theft and applying the company’s procedures for cash handling, tobacco and alcohol sales, and robbery deterrence.

Maintenance duties include keeping the store and parking lot safe, clean, and organized, cleaning equipment, and monitoring product and refrigeration temperatures. Accurate reporting and completion of time records and customer service documents are also essential. The job is physically demanding at times, requiring the ability to tolerate temperature extremes and lift moderate weights, making it suitable for individuals who are energetic and attentive to operational details.

Overall, the Guest Services Associate role at United Dairy Farmers offers a dynamic part-time job within a reputable company known for strong community ties and a great work environment. It is ideal for those who enjoy customer interaction, take pride in providing excellent service, and want to work in a supportive team setting. This position provides valuable experience in retail and food service management while offering a flexible schedule and competitive pay.
